Congratulations to Dr Brownlow on new appointment
18.02.09
Congratulations to Dr Sue Brownlow on her appointment as the new Director of the Combined Universities in Cornwall (CUC).
Carleen Kelemen, Director of the Convergence Partnership Office for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, said: "I would like to express my warmest congratulations to Dr Brownlow on behalf of the Convergence Partnership Office.
"We have already been working closely with Dr Brownlow in her role delivering ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) Convergence investment at the South West RDA. We look forward to continuing a close working relationship as we support business growth via the CUC, its facilities, knowledge and graduates.”
The Combined Universities in Cornwall was the Objective One flagship project and money was invested in top quality new buildings, refurbishment, equipment and initiatives to link the academic and business worlds. Convergence investment has already been approved for a CUC expansion - to Truro and Penwith College, in Penzance.
There are now more than 6,000 people studying for university-level qualifications in Cornwall and several hundred jobs have already been created as a direct result of CUC.
The Objective One Programme for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly has invested in the Combined Universities in Cornwall (CUC) project, both Phase 1 and Phase 2, through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the European Social Fund (ESF).
